Rose Garden, Hauz Khas, New Delhi

The Rose Garden is the one exactly opposite Deer Park at Hauz Khas just before the Hauz Khas village/market. But just like the Deer Park, do not think of it as a garden full of roses, but a beautiful walk in the forest.

It gives the feel of a national park with long trees and different kinds of birds. This path also makes a great jogging track. Though there is also a small patch of flowers, but the real beauty of Rose Garden lies in this jogging track.

Hauz Khas Lake, Kauz Khas, New Delhi

The Hauz Khas Lake is sometimes referred to as the dying lake of Delhi. Even though the lake is not so well maintained, it is definitely a refreshing experience for a morning walk in Delhi.

The trees in the lake, the ducks and the birds compensate for the dirty water and capture the attention of all. The best entry to the lake is via Deer Park when the sun is about to rise. You can walk around the lake and see the fort.

The Deer Park is just = Park Balluchi + A 1.5km jogging track + Absolutely no deer at all.

Another way to get there is through the Hauz Khas District Park which has many gates from Green Park. It is a good place to get some physical exercise(check out the swings) and to jog or run.

Lodi Gardens, New Delhi

The Lodi Gardens are the joggers park of Delhi. It is also my favorite of all the morning destinations in Delhi when it comes to jogging/running. It has a seperate jogging track throughout the circumference giving us a 2km track.

Early morning is the best time since you'll find a really good class of people and no love birds at this time. You'll find small groups of people with a yoga instructor in each group. You can also find small laughing clubs and groups of elderly people doing light exercises.

It is a host for a large variety of trees, flowers and different species of birds. It also has four monuments namely - Tomb of Muhmmad Shah, Bada Gumbad, Shish Gumbad, Tomb of Sikander Lodi and the Athpula.

Rashtrapati Bhawan, Delhi

The Rashtrapati Bhawan or President's House is a beautiful destination for a morning walk in Delhi. You can find people jogging and running between the President's House and the India Gate.

On this particular day, I was lucky enough to witness a parade (at about 6:30 am) covering a circuit including the Rashtrapati Bhawan & the Parliament House circling around the Vijay Chawk. The best time reach there is about 6 am when you'll only find a few poilce & press vans and very few people.

The Rashrapati Bhawan shows great symmetry in many aspects of its construction including the gardens & buildings on either side of the Rajpath.
